ABOUT NOVA SWIM

Nova started as an ABA company to provide support to kids and adults with autism. But then we read the horrifying statistics:
that the leading cause of death with autistic children is drowning.

We started the Nova adaptive swim program because families in our autism community kept telling us the water was both a favorite place and a frightening one. Autistic children and their tendency to wander and not follow safety rules can be a dangerous situation for families. So we started a clinic that has an on-site pool, and built lessons that teach real, repeatable water-safety skills in a calm, predictable way.
Our goal is simple: help children and adults enjoy the water while giving families peace of mind.

Now more inclusive than ever, Nova Swim is offering adaptive swim classes to babies, kids, and adults with any disability.

We believe safety is the most important aspect of taking care of your children. Giving them the tools to be safe around water, especially if they are non-verbal or physically disabled, is the preventative care Nova strives to provide to families.
Meet our Adaptive Swim Director!
My name is Emily!
I’m super passionate about helping people feel safe, confident, and happy in the water. I’ve been teaching swim lessons for over six years and absolutely love what I do. I’ve taught at therapeutic pools and clinics across Southern California, working with kids of all abilities — including adaptive lessons for those with special needs.
I also specialize in teaching little ones as young as six months old, helping them (and their parents!) feel comfortable in the water from the very beginning.
Right now, I’m studying Psychology and plan to continue my education in ABA therapy to become a BCBA. When I’m not in the pool or studying, you can usually find me reading, camping, or spending time with family and friends!

More about our facility...
Our on-site, private pool is 5ft deep max. We have lots of fun toys to help teach new skills and encourage safety. We will always have a swim teacher in the room. There are attached bathrooms for ease of changing into or out of swim suits, as well as showers if needed.
